What is success? God’s way of success is never man’s definition of success. There are many bible verses about success, but success can be summed up by the following phrase: “Obey God and leave all the consequences to Him” as quoted by Charles Stanley. When a life is lived to please God, success will follow. Jesus said that without faith it is impossible to please God. A successful life always has an element of faith to it, a belief that a goal will be attained.
The battle for the development of your faith starts in your mind – a part of your Spirit. The Spirit nature is strengthened when your thoughts and actions are set on the things above – on God and His faith promises. The highest functions of your life, like thinking, and decision making are governed by your subconscious mind. The thoughts in the subconscious mind, or heart as the bible calls it, directs the conscious mind to action. The conscious mind, i.e. – your present state, operates either in a Spirit state or a flesh (mortal) state. By programming God’s faith filled bible verses about success into your subconscious mind, it propels you to take action. It allows the spiritual laws of faith to take effect thereby accomplishing things previously thought impossible.
The following bible verses about success, faith and purpose will allow you to gain clarity on what success actually means.
“You were taught…to put off your old self…to be made new in the attitude of your minds…”
The first step is a renewal of your mind. The old way of thinking has to be replaced with God’s way. The attitude of your mind must be filled with biblical wisdom, which ultimately leads to action. When Godly thoughts and inspirational bible verses become part of your subconscious mind, the Spirit gets activated in a powerful way and overcome the desires of the flesh.
When your subconscious mind is full of fear, the Spirit does not operate properly and gives way to the flesh nature. The subconscious part of your mind is the gatekeeper which directs your conscious state’s being, either towards your Spirit or your flesh, depending on what you program into it.
“According to your faith let it be done to you”
Whatever you believe, if it is God’s will and lines up with the Word of God, then it is done according to your faith. Seeking God’s will for your life is almost as important as how much faith you have.
When Jesus was in his hometown, he could not heal anyone. That was due to a lack of faith from their familiarity with Him. So developing faith is important to obtain all of God’s promises. Each person, whether Christian or not, is given a measure of faith. What a person decides to do with that faith is something else. The most powerful use of faith is to relinquish your mind, body and will to Jesus’ teachings and allow the power of the Holy Spirit to flow through you. You will have a total dependence upon God in everything you do while being led by His Spirit.
“For we walk by faith and not by sight.”
2 Corinthians 5:7
The five senses, vision, hearing, touch, taste and smell are used to walk in the earthly realm. If the walk is a spiritual one, then these senses are rendered meaningless. A person’s Spirit must be connected to God and His ways. In the book of Revelation, God tells us that Satan, the Beast and the False Prophet will deceive many. That is because the forces of evil have perfected deception towards people through their five senses. If a person is led by their senses and not the word of God through their Spirit, they will be led astray. Knowing biblical truth is important.
Faith is not meant to obtain goods or material things in order to waste on one’s own desires. The desire to obtain wealth is fraught with pitfalls and danger – traps set by the enemy. When we live out our destiny, God may see to reward us. But if not, we are to be satisfied with what God has given us. To set our purpose in life on worldly pursuits is missing the mark of what God intends. Our sole purpose in life should be to please Him.
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
This passage tells us how to be successful, which is by doing everything written in the bible (obeying God’s commands) and meditating on scripture – each and every day. This verse is like finding a precious diamond. It tells us specifically what to do to find success; this can’t be emphasized enough. It is a scripture made with a promise to bless you. If you stay in God’s word frequently, pray, believe, meditate on the word daily, you will have the ability to follow this scripture and fight temptation. It will build up your faith sufficiently to allow to you “do everything written in it”. Meditating means to toss about, to chew on and to think about. Daily meditation and reading of his word puts on His peace, His joy and equips you to do battle. You will be less inclined to fall out of peace during the day when you read the bible daily.
The power of God lies dormant inside of you until your thoughts, words and deeds are in direct synchronicity with your Spirit and His will. Unless you consciously synchronize them through reading, praying and meditating on the word, your effort will only be in your own strength and not through God’s.
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Proverbs 18:21 is a powerful bible verse about success. Your mouth has the ability to calls things into existence through the faith in your heart. And, faith is a state of mind that can be reproduced at any time by speaking words of faith coupled with decisive action. The desire must be so strong that it convicts your heart thus allowing the words to get deep into your Spirit. Nothing is impossible for you when you align your desires with God’s desires – backed by an unshakable faith to achieve the object of your desire.
Self-auto suggestion through the power of the tongue, will convince your conscious mind (heart) that you can have whatever it is that you want. This provides the faith required to get your Spirit activated and in agreement with God. A deep seated desire in your heart propels you to take action. Faith allows the spirit to complete the task supernaturally according to God’s spiritual law of faith.
When you combine your desire with a higher purpose, it propels you to take sustained action for achievement.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
This is one of the most powerful bible verses about success. It shows that God has plans to prosper each and every Christian. He wants to give you a future filled with success, hope and meaning. Trust in God that he will reveal your life purpose. Moreover, take that small step of faith and start doing what you know is His will. He may not reveal it to you all at once but He will show you enough of what you are supposed to do to get you started. Only God knows the plans he has for your life and in your earnest search for it, he will show you the way. When you seek it, you will find it.
God has specifically made you to fulfill a purpose that is integrated in His divine plan for the universe. Every attribute that you need to accomplish His will for your life has already been given to you. You must find out what those gifts are and start to use and develop them as each person is a unique created being. God wants you to be excited about each day, filled with the power of His Spirit. Get it on the inside of you to walk each day in service to God and to gain His favor. Stretch yourself to hope for more, to do more and seek better results.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared us in advanced to do.”
God created each one of His children to fulfill a purpose. He has equipped each one of you with a unique set of skills and talents to achieve this calling. In order to achieve true happiness, a lifelong happiness that lasts, it starts with finding your purpose, specifically the reason God placed you on this earth. True happiness occurs when you live a life dedicated for God, making an impact on the people in your life and the immediate world around you. It is about finding wisdom and using it for the good of all involved; it is about serving a Higher Power, fulfilling His plans and purposes.
The goals that you aspire to must have a purpose attached to them. There must be a single driving force – a reason for your plans in order to live passionately in pursuit of those goals. A God defined purpose will propel you to new heights and will give you the wherewithal to persevere when the going gets tough. Your purpose must define your single most important reason for your existence. All of your actions in life must be built around this purpose.
So by defining a life purpose, your life will be filled with passion to accomplish whatever it is that you want and achieve lifelong success. There are many more bible verses about success and you can find them at Christian Success Principles.
